Alphabetic index for Contacts on my iMac

Why isn't there an alphabetic index available for Contacts on my iMac? It's on the iPhone and iPad. It's a pain to have to scroll through the entire alphabetic listing of contacts.

There is. Click on the All Contacts label at the top of the sidebar and it will list all of the contacts alphabetically and grouped by each letter of the alphabet.

The iOS/iPadOS operating system and its applications are differently implemented to take advantage of the touch interface than those on traditional macOS, and likely different development teams are involved in the App design features and implementation.

Old Toad gave you the alphabetical solution for macOS. Your fellow users do not know if or when Apple may choose to add those rolodex tabs to Contacts in macOS.

Yes but unlike my iPhone there is no listing of the alphabet on the right side of the alphabetic listing of all contacts. There is no one click way to move from a name listed in the A's to a name listed in the W's. You have to scroll all the way through the entire list of contacts (even using the fast scrolling is pretty imprecise because you can often go past the letter of the alphabet you want to view).
