The instructions at Gift apps, music, movies, and more from Apple - Apple Support don't seem to work for apps, only for music.
There isn't any way to gift Mac apps through the iTunes Store system; they're found in the Mac App Store, not Music.

Apple's support page that I linked to says that's where they can be gifted from. It sounded wrong to me! But within the Mac App Store I can't see how to gift an app.
How can I do it there?
So it sounds like it is impossible to gift a Mac app, correct?
How can I gift an *app* from the Music app on macOS? I can't find any apps there?
