problems after installing venture

After installing Ventura 13.1 on my new MacBook Air, I keep getting a popup that says:

"MeterStatusMenu" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

When I attempt to move it, another pop up comes up and says that it must be moved manually.

I can not find an app or file by the name "MeterStatusMenu"

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.7

Then what are you attempting to move if you can't find it...this makes no sense to me...(?)

Use your Spotlight search if in doubt. Command Spacebar

Search with Spotlight on Mac - Apple Support

Third party app— always look for an associated uninstaller...

if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates/uninstaller

Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support

Bingo, we have struck the Jackpot .

CleanMyMac aka " BrickMyMac "

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS,  is an invitation for disaster and comprise the Operating System

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale. What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

This will include CleanMyMac ,

Read some of the posting and arrive at your own conclusions.

The next part is harsh and may not be welcome news

Specific to CMM ( CleanMyMac )

Some Contributors suggest , this predicated on the Removal of CleanMyMac first , starting in Recovery Mode and choosing to Reinstall the Operating System over  the existing installation.

This may or may not replace elements of the Entire Operating System including the Home Folder ( User Account )  and replace any corrupted or removed elements of the Operating System and make thing right.

Then there are Other Contributors ( like myself ) would suggest  from this link Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac then from this link How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support (CA)

Thereafter to start from scratch and install all Required Application directly from the Apple Apps Store or Directly from the Developer.

If going this route - I suggest Not using Startup Assist to migrate things back as this will probably Re-Introduce the existing  issue that existed when the TM Backup was made

Oh my - I am sorry to hear this.

I had CMM on my last laptop - for 7 or 8 years and never had a problem.

I am not at a location where I can get to a trustworthy place to have my MacBook looked at or worked on.

My immediate problem is solved, but once I return to the US, I will head to an authorized Apple dealer or store and see about having CMM uninstalled and things put back to where they should be.

Thank you for this helpful information.

User Choice to wait until back on Home Turf.

The Apple Authorized Dealer may or may not perform the exact same as per previous suggestion the Wipe the Entire Drive and do a reinstallation.

FYI and really do hope the user will consider reading some of the first 600 posting related to CMM.

Having use this specific Appliation on other Apple Computers will have done the same damages it has done to this computer.

The only difference is, CMM has had 7 - 8 years to totally muck up the computers
