Key chain on MacBook and iPhone - corrupt by Google Chrome

How do I stop the keychain on my iPhone and my MacBook from communicating with Google Chrome. My passwords are not updating when I make changes.

I use gmail and it has become a problem. I am locked out because my email password became corrupt.

Hello Carole Ashworth,

It sounds as though you're having issues with Keychain not updating your passwords as expected. As for using iCloud Keychain on your Apple products, you can find great troubleshooting steps for resolving syncing related issues with iCloud Keychain listed below and outlined in the following article. The steps listed below can be used to verify the password on iOS devices.

"On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 14 or later

  1. Tap Settings > Passwords.
  2. Use Face ID or Touch ID when you're prompted.
  3. Tap a website to view your password."

"On your Mac with OS X Mavericks or later

  1. Choose Safari > Preferences, then click Passwords.
  2. Enter your Mac password.
  3. Select a website to view your password.
  4. Click the Details button at the bottom of the window."

If iCloud Keychain won't turn on or sync

As for issues with Google Chrome, that would be separate from iCloud Keychain. You can learn how to update the passwords in Google Chrome via the following link.
