open Finder.app at coreservices, any side effect?

Hi, I want to create a shortcut in Streamdeck, or create a Automator with shortcut so I can activate Finder anywhere instead using mouse to click at the bottom.I can’t find a Finder app in the application folder but I found it in the CoreServices folder under system/library. When I double click to open it, it says “it can’t be opened”, but when I’m in another application and do the shortcut it gets me to Finder and it work.

since it’s not in the application folder but in coreservice folder , and I also get an error message for directly open Finder.app from the Finder, I wonder if there’s any side effect or will it cause anything else when I hit the shortcut (no matter Automator or streamdeck) which open this Finder.app?

thanks a lot

/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app

That is the Finder app. The reason it can't be opened is that it's always open.

tell application "Finder"
	activate
end tell

I wouldn't worry about it. The only reason for my reticence is that I am not familiar with Stream Deck so it's not as though I can duplicate what you want to do so as to reassure you nothing will go wrong.

Lots of macOS components are in CoreServices. Since most of them are not windowed apps, they are not intended to be launched from there. It would just cause confusion if a user were to open an app in CoreServices and nothing appeared to happen.

Thanks. Currently I use Streamdeck , the run command is a shortcut allows to open a certain App, I set to open this Finder.app in the coreservices, just like any app in the application folder.

it does what I want but I suppose there’s no side effect, nothing else is caused or related except open/activate the Finder, by using this Finder.app inside Coreservice folder?
