Verification code not working for resetting Apple ID password
Hello,
I am currently switching to an iPhone 11 (which was previously my mother’s and she gave it to me). She had logged in with an Apple ID via her phone number, but she forgot her password. Hence we requested apple for a reset. We were told that an update regarding the same would come in 24 hours. After 24 hours, they told me that the waiting period for receiving the verification code for the password reset would take 12 days. We waited. Finally, when the time came, we tried giving the verification code to iforgot.apple.com, which came via SMS, but it did not take it in. We tried several times with various codes apple had sent us one by one, but none worked. Then it is now showing an error, even when logging to iforgot.apple.com. Can someone help?
PS- the account I am writing the query with is my own, and want to login to the new iPhone with the same, hence was trying to log out.
