Greetings youaredrivingmecrazy,

Apple offers guidance to help with this issue. Check out this link for what to do if the iPhone screen is not responding when you tap or touch it: If your iPhone won't turn on or is frozen. Since you have an iPhone X, you'll want to follow these steps:

On your iPhone 8 or later, including iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation)
1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
An animation of an iPhone with arrows pointing to the volume up button, then to the volume down button, and then to the side button.

4. If your phone doesn't turn on, follow these steps to check your hardware and charge your phone. You might need to charge for up to an hour.
5. If your phone still doesn't turn on, contact Apple Support.

These steps are meant to resolve issues with the screen not responding. If you follow these steps and continue to have the same issue, you'll want to reach out to Apple directly for support. You can reach out to them by clicking here: Contact Apple Support or over the phone by calling the number that is most local to your region: Contact Apple for support and service.

We hope this info helps you out.

Cheers!
