Factory reset without an active ID

When getting a new iPad I transferred my things from the old iPad to the new, then deleted my old Apple ID and created a new one for the new device. I went back to reset the old iPad and it won’t let me because the Apple ID is no longer in existence so it won’t except the password it keeps demanding for reset, because the ID doesn’t exist anymore. How do I get past it needing a password to factory reset? Or can I get an old ID REINSTATED so that I can log in to reset my device?

You need to submit proof of ownership/purchase to Apple and request Apple remove it from their end. See "Start a support request" at How to remove Activation Lock - Apple Support
