I recently bought an apple watch SE 2022 (2nd gen) and I'm having difficulty pairing it with my iphone XR... it won't download the update. I've read conflicting info about whether the XR has the software. Do I need to upgrade my phone?
There should be no issue using and Xr phone with an SE Gen 2 watch. But you should make sure your iPhone is updated to the current iOS 16.2, then try to pair and update the watch.

If you can't update your iPhone over the air, use your computer (Mac with Finder or Windows with iTunes) to update the phone.

I connected my iphone to my pc and it shows as connected. I went to Devices under File in itunes but my iphone is not there. in fact many of the selections are greyed out (not chooseable). I haven't really used itunes in quite a while as I'm a Spotify fan. Any other suggestions appreciated.
Thanks, now that I know it's possible i am pursuing why my iphone software update is failing everytime. I've tried it many times from different locations.
lobsterghost1, I was able to connect to itunes with my iphone after trying a couple of things. So now I'm downloading the update from there..... will let you know.
