Some Apple FreeForm Questions

1) How to set pen thickness?

2) Is there a Lasso Select Tool? (Then I want to delete some objects etc.)

3) FreeForm automatically converts my writings into text. How can I stop this for this particular app?

Hey there Mainecoon364,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. For the best help with these particular questions, take a look at this link here: Draw in a Freeform board on iPad - Apple Support

Draw in a board
1. Create or open a board, tap the Drawing and Handwriting Tool button, then draw with your finger or Apple Pencil.
If you’re using Apple Pencil and want to be able to switch to draw with your finger, tap the More button in the drawing tools, then turn on Draw with Finger.
2. Tap a tool to switch to it, then tap it a second time to see if there are additional options, like stroke size (line thickness) or transparency. These two tools behave differently:
-  : (next to the pen) Transforms your handwriting to typed text as you write with Apple Pencil. To learn more about writing on boards with Apple Pencil, see Enter text with Scribble on iPad.
- Fill: With the Fill tool (the paint tube) selected, tap any closed shapes to fill them with color. Or draw to create a filled shape.

To learn more about other apps with drawing tools, see Draw in apps with Markup on iPad.

A Freeform board with the drawing tools visible. You can select the handwriting tool to convert handwritten text to type, choose a drawing tool, fill an area enclosed by a drawn line, select a drawing, and define a custom color.

Per step 2 above, you'll want to tap on the tool a second time to see options to change the line thickness. Additionally, the writing next to the tool that says "Select a drawing" would likely be the closest tool to a lasso tool.

Lastly, the feature that converts your writing to text would be the Scribble feature. This can be turned off in Settings > Apple Pencil. Check this link for more details: Enter text with Scribble on iPad - Apple Support

Let us know if that's able to help.

Take care!
