Can’t mark texts as unread even with iPhone 14 Pro and running 16.2

As the subject says, I have an iPhone 14 Pro running 16.2. When I send iMessages to other iPhone users that are also running 16.2, I do not see any option to mark their messages as “Unread.” Are there settings I need to change in order to get the Mark Unread feature to work? Thank you
