Move photos from a smart album

Is there a way other than exporting to move photos from one smart album to another smart album? If not it seems like a HUGE oversite on Apple's part.

There is no way at all to move photos between smart albums. The photos in a smart album are determined by the rules of the smart album and the photos currently in the Photos Library. To change the photos in a smart album, you have to modify the rules or delete photos from the library.

  • Ctrl-click the smart album in the sidebar of Photos.
  • Use the command "Modify Smart Album". Then change the rules for the album.
