Apple TV on chromecast with Google TV

Just got a chromecast with google tv for christmas.

For now, it seems that every time I want to start the Apple TV app, I need to log in via my phone, using the onscreen QR code. (To be fair, a certain internet vendor that shall remain anonymous seems to have the same issue with its app….)This is a pain when I’m settled in the sofa ready to look for something to play.

Is there any way for Apple TV to “recognise” my chromecast as a valid Apple TV device registered to me?

Pretty new to this (couple of hours…) so forgive me if this is rather obvious. I’ll pose the same question in the Google site as it might not be an Apple issue…)
