Solo loop band fails after 1 year

I have now owned 2 silicone solo loop bands from Apple. Each has lasted 1 year. The first got a tear at the edge and the second in the middle. I love the bands. They are comfortable. But for the price, I would expect it to last more than a year. I do not abuse them or expose to chemicals. Anyone else have this problem? Does Apple warranty their bands? Are they just building 1 year obsolescence into them so they can sell more?
