I have been using my AirPods Pro (1st Gen) with my LG OLED TV for over a year. My new AirPods Pro (2nd generation) will connect via Bluetooth to this LG TV but will not broadcast the audio.

Hey there EeqMCsq,

Since setting up the new AirPods, have you had a chance to remove the previous AirPods from your TV Bluetooth settings? If not, give this a try and check if you can get the audio going to your new AirPods next. It's possible the TV is still trying to route the audio to the other AirPods, which could be causing this issue.

If the issue persists, remove all Bluetooth accessories from the TV settings, then pair only the new AirPods with the TV using the steps below:

You can use AirPods as a Bluetooth headset with a non-Apple device. You can't use Siri, but you can listen and talk. To set up your AirPods with an Android phone or other non-Apple device,3 follow these steps:
1. On your non-Apple device, go to the settings for Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is on.4 If you have an Android device, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.
2. With your AirPods in the charging case, open the lid.
3. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light flashes white.
4. When your AirPods appear in the list of Bluetooth devices, select them.

Feel free to reply with more details if this persists.

Take care!

Thank you hc1111.

I have completed all of procedures recommended by you, by Apple Tech Support and by LG tech support. Also had AirPods Pro Gen-2 tested and factory reset at Apple Store. All hardware firmware and software is up to date.

After doing all that, the problem persists!

My brand new “AirPods Pro Gen-2” connect ok via Bluetooth to my LG OLED TV but there is no audio after a very brief static sound.

Following the exact same procedure after disconnecting all Bluetooth devices from my TV, my “AirPods Pro Gen-1” connect ok via Bluetooth to my LG OLED TV and audio comes through. They sound great.

LG tech support say the problem is with AirPods Pro Gen-2. Apple tech support say the problem is with TV, even though my AirPods Pro Gen-1 works perfect with the same TV. When I survey online blogs, it appears droves of people are having the same problem I have with AirPods Pro Gen-2 not connecting properly to non-Apple devices.

Jeff_W,

Please read my previous note in its entirety. I have teamed up with Apple and LG tech support on several occasions and higher levels. Neither has provided me with a solution and only referring me to go to the other company.

This complex problem analysis is actually quite simple… Apple AirPods Pro GEN-1 works perfectly with my OLED LG TV. Apple AirPods Pro GEN-2 do not.

As a very devoted Apple customer, owning virtually everything they sell and much of their stock, I have no options left unfortunately except to return the AirPods Pro GEN-2 to the store. Thank you.
