I have paid Active Armor account and VPN says “VPN Threat Detected” but when I click on the VPN sign it says “WiFi appears safe”. I’ve updated the app and iOS, and restarted my phone. Error continues to show. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Remove the add-on first-few-hops VPN client entirely.
Those largely “solve” issues that haven’t existed for a decade or so, and not all that well.
Otherwise: Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support and request assistance from the vendor.
Dump the VPN. On iPhone, they are a waste of money and cause more issues than they could ever solve.
