Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!
I have a new iMac which his all set to go. I want to recycle my old iMac and am looking for advice re: deleting / erasing all content and settings....... Without selecting anything from iCloud. Everything is all backed up.
Also, can I take the old iMac directly to the Apple Store to recycle? Is original box needed?

The directions in that article have been well tested.
They do disassociate the Mac with iCloud, and from your various subscriptions, yes.
Which is what you want.
Create a backup of your data before you begin the process of resetting your computer. iCloud is not a computer backup. iCloud synchronizes data across all computers accessing the iCloud account.
