Merge WhatsApp Backups

Hello,

I have an iPhone X and an iPhone 12 here with two different WhatsApp chat backups. The X has the recent messages while the 12 was broken for half a year with the older messages from back then. I did an iCloud backup on the X and tried to reactivate the 12 but now there are only the old ones visible. When I’m activating WhatsApp on the X, once again I only have the newer messages. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I wish to have both backups on one phone.

thanks in advance!

yeah basically they are completely useless...

I got the following reply:

The only ways to recover lost data from WhatsApp or move data to another iPhone are through iCloud or computer backups. iCloud and computer backups are tied to your phone number. You won't be able to restore a backup for a number that isn't currently active on your phone. Learn more about how to back up to iCloud in this article.

We aren't able to help you restore your chats, documents, media files, backups, or call history. In most cases, the chat history and media files can only be found on your phone or the recipient's phone.

In order to restore your backup, you have to use the same phone number and Apple ID that were used to create the backup.

This doesn't help at all
