A single dead-pixel is not necessarily considered a screen defect - although the dot that you see may not be a dead-pixel, but might be a stray dust particle.
Assuming that you purchased your iPad directly from Apple, you have 14-days within which to unconditionally return an unwanted or unsatisfactory item for exchange or refund. If you have any concerns whatsoever, you would be best advised to make use of the opportunity while it remains available to you - as upon expiry of 14-days you are within the realm of a warranty claim - and to reiterate, a single dead-pixel may not qualify as fault.
If instead you have purchased from another retailer, you will need to investigate the retailers own returns policy.

You have a 14 day return window. If this dead pixel annoys you then return the iPad and buy a new one.
