Disable Auto-Fill of new Calendar events?

Whenever I make a new calendar entry for a recurring, but unpredictable event, the calendar app automatically auto-fills all of the details from the previous event. For example, let's say I have an appointment every week, but on different days, at different times, and using different video links. As soon as I enter the first few letters of the meeting's title, the entire calendar entry auto-fills (fills, not suggests, but fills) with the previous appointment's information. This includes the wrong time and wrong URL for the video.

This makes it impossible to quickly generate a meeting on the iPhone. I have to create the appointment on the calendar, and then change the time, location, URL, and invitees (easy to make errors). The only thing you can quickly enter is a date. I've missed appointments because the app has incorrectly filled in details that I didn't catch. OR I have to write down meeting details on a scrap of paper and then enter it into the phone or Mac. That's...just...dumb.

Hey destiny241, Thanks for your reply. Using a different title for the same, recurring meeting is impractical and confusing. It would look something like this:

schedule meeting

meeting-schedule

meeting for schedule

scheduling meeting

what's next meeting

meeting next schedule

You can see how tedious and confusing this would become.

Hello Eric Espino,

AutoFill shouldn't fill in the details automatically, but suggest you to select the same/reoccurring event you previously set up for ease of use.

To avoid this from happening, we'd suggest not titling the event the exact same as your previous calendar events on either your iPhone or Mac.

If the feature isn't working as expected, do you have issues with AutoFill in other apps, like Safari or only with the Calendar app? If so, see related steps in: Change AutoFill settings in Safari on Mac

You mentioned using a Mac and an iPhone. What operating systems are you using? Are these iCloud Calendar events or no?

These answers will help us to narrow things down further, so we can suggest solutions.

Hoping to hear back, take care.
