EXS24 changed to Sampler.

Hi,

I used to import external instrument from CD's into early Logic Pro.

I opend EXS24 and in an upper right site - Edit. Option

Now EXS24 changed to Sampler. Is there anybody who do the same in a Sampler?

This seems like it should be so simple because I used to do it all the time with the EXS24 Sampler. But no matter which method I try, the sampler creates duplicate audio files for each zone every time. So If I chop up a 10 minute song into 80 regions, the sampler creates 79 copies of that 10 minute song (one for each zone) when I convert regions to a new sampler Instrument. You can see how this would waste a lot of resources. I have been a logic user for over a decade and this hurts to see such a good update lacking this one ability. Or maybe I am doing something wrong. (I hope so) I have a large library of custom sampler instruments of different kinds. A lot of which are just single audio files that have been chopped up into 70+ pieces. All the sampler Instruments that I created using the old EXS24 still open and work flawlessly while referencing only the one source file they were created with. Thank you so much for your help.

Logic Pro keeps crashing when I add a sample from Splice I have a fresh session open with basically one track from the drum designer plugin in it. When I try to add samples from splice, Logic Pro crashes. It only occurs with certain samples I notice, because some work and are added like normal. This is a relatively new phenomenon, as I have used Splice a lot for a couple years with no issue. The only thing I can think of is the nature of the samples, but Splice doesn't really have any info distinguishing the samples other than just them being a .wav file. I'm set at 44.1 kHz sample rate.

Clip gain change not visible in Logic 10.8.1 I changed a clips gain from -24,7dB to -2,7dB using the file editor. First +12db, then +10db. Everything worked and the waveform got clearly bigger as it normally does. I edited the clip and saved the session. When I reopened the session, the file was still -2,7dB but the waveform looks like the original -24,7dB file. Why is this? What can I do? I believe this particular quality has come very recently. Maybe with the 10.8.1 update.

Hi resopmoc,

You should be able to import to Logic Pro as you used to, Sampler is the same function just renamed from EXS24 Sampler. The logic behind this rename is outlined here: Plug-ins and Sounds
