Hello,

AirTags work by notifying you when something you own that has the tag on it is no longer near you. They tell you where they last were located, but do not give a live location unless your phone is constantly near the AirTag. In order for you to constantly know where your daughter is, she would have to turn on location sharing for you from her iPhone.
