13 pro max lens issue

My Iphone 13 pro max camera is showing red line while taking photos but in wide angle its working fine. Have visited apple care in Hyderabad (Sarath city mall) which is a authorised Apple service centre. They have come to a conclusion that my camera lens has been damaged due to laser contact and is not covered under warranty and have asked me to get it replaced by paying a cost of INR 18000. My phone camera has never come in contact with laser and is under warranty. Why is apple giving one year warranty if they cannot give service within the warranty period? Please help.
