how do i send photo from my ipad 8th to a smart phone

Can I send a photo from my iPad 8th Gen. to my sister-in-law’s smart phone? I don’t have a smart phone and she doesn’t have an iPad. We lost my brother a year ago and I haven’t seen them since before pandemic, and couldn’t attend funeral. I’m 78 and she’s 83 so not too IT savvy. Hope someone can tell me how. Many thanks.

iPad 2, iOS 9

I’m so sorry for your loss.

You can go into the photos app and select your photo. Then in the options/controls above that photo you will see a little box with an arrow coming out of it, tap on that and then choose your mail app (if you are using the built in apple app you’ll see ‘mail’ as an option. Choose that and it should bring up your email. Type in your sister in law’s email address and send it

you may also be able to choose messages and possibly text her the photo.

I don’t think you can do file transfers in facetime.

if she can download and install skype you can transfer files with that.

or One Drive can also be used to send files.

if she has a smart phone she does have an email. You need some sort of account to get a phone started. She may not use it but it should exist.

you could also share the photo via icloud and she could save it from there if you text her the link. Open the photo and tap on the share icon (the box with the arrow coming out of it), then scroll down and you should see ‘copy icloud link’. Then paste that into your texting app and text it to her. She should just need to tap on that link to open the photo then can save it
