Apple watch series 8 frozen
The screen is frozen on the ap view selection page. other things appear to work but a restart does not, not does a forced restart.

A forced restart would be the only solution, if the Apple Watch isn't responding. Try it out again, using these steps: Restart your Apple Watch
Force restart your Apple Watch
You should force restart your Apple Watch as a last resort and only if it's not responding.
Don’t force restart your Apple Watch if you're updating watchOS. After you see the Apple logo and progress wheel, leave your watch alone and on its charger until the update finishes.
To force restart your Apple Watch, press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.
You may need to hold down both the side button and Digital Crown for longer than 10 seconds. Hold the buttons until you see the Apple logo.
If needed, try charging the Apple Watch for a few hours or overnight, then attempting to force a restart should the issue continue to occur.
In case the issue persists, then you'd need to bring in the Apple Watch for an inspection. They will need to run a diagnostic, if possible, to determine if this is hardware related: Apple Watch Service and Repair
