How to add new words to the dictionary.
I figured it out.
There are two situations where you might want to add new words to your “dictionary” on Apple devices.
- You have an unusual name.
- You want to use a word banned by Apple.
The fix is to add a keyboard shortcut.
Go to Settings / Keyboard / Text Replacement and add a new word. It will no longer appear in the future with an underline. It’s not in the dictionary, but it will be recognized as a valid word, and not be underlined.
It’s that simple.
