Install Samsung ML-1865W printer on macos Ventura 13.1

I was finally able to install my printer on the new system.

samsung was bought by HP and nowadays the ML-1865W model is found in the HP list.

To install just go to system settings / Printers and Scanners / Add printer.

Locate Samsung Ml-1865W in the first tab

in drive select: select software

from the list select HP DeskJet Series

click ok , Add... and it should work.

Hi,

Thank you for the report.

The Samsung ML-1865W is not listed in the December 13, 2022 en-us version of About AirPrint - Apple Support.

However, an HP ML-1865W was mentioned as late as in the July 01, 2022 version, and Samsung ML-1865W in the Dec 10, 2015 version of this article. Probably an early AirPrint model (possibly with updated firmware).

Since it would be a bit surprising if HP DeskJet drivers actually do work with this laser printer, could the reason instead be that the driverless AirPrint technology, somehow, becomes automatically selected? I guess that your printer is connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router) as the macOS 13 Ventura Mac.
