bought ilife but can't update in Apple Store

I bought iLife as a boxed set years ago (I think it was from Amazon). Since then I've upgraded laptops, Macs etc and each time imported all my stuff to the new machine. My 2012 MacBookPro is now on Mojave, and I want to change to Catalina (the newest system it can have). But even in Mojave I can't update through the Apple Store - I suppose because I didn't buy originally though them so they don't have a record of my legitimate purchase.

Also the Apple Store only offers the newer free versions of iLife apps for Big Sur and later - not for Mojave or Catalina.

Is there any way I can get iLife versions that run on Mojave and Catalina? Since they are free and I have legitimate Macs and OSs I don't see why I should be denied.

Is there any way that I can tell Apple the box set serial number and then be allowed to update?

Yes, see -> Get more help and assistant from Apple directly, see Contact Apple for support and service -> Contact Apple for support and service – Apple Support (UK)

iLife is discontinued -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ILife

Currently consisting of iMovie and Garageband.

And iWork bundle of productivity apps consisting of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.

The current version of Garageband (version 10.4.7) for macOS requires macOS 12.3 or later.

The current version of iMovie (Version 10.3.5) for macOS requires macOS 11.5.1 or later.

What I want is only Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, in the versions for Mojave. My laptop can't upgrade the sytem to macOS 11 or later.

I had originally bought a family pack box set in 2010 containing iWork, iLife and Snow Leopard. It has a serial number.

I believe that if I had bought originally from the app store it would now recognise my purchases when I try to update, and then let me instal the appropriate versions for whatever system I log in with, however old or out of date. So I believe that what I want is hidden somewhere on Apple's servers.
