Not able to burn from FCP 10.6.2 to Blu-Ray disk burner, nor

I am new to iMAC and FCP 10.6.2, but not new to creating, rendering and burning video on PC. I have tried each step from suggestions to save an .img image of my video on the hard drive, but to no success. I'm sure it's me, but I've gone through the steps numerous times and am still not seeing, not finding an .img file with my project. I've spent the time to create a 45 minute project with video, photos, titles and music. Now the frustration of not knowing enough to burn the project to my external (of course), Blu-Ray burner. As an example, when I hold the pointer over the project and "skim" the frame in the browser, I'm not given anything to click to save...no pop-up menu, nothing, so I'm not surprised when I don't see anything in my documents. I've experienced the 66% and freeze. I've tried just burning the project to a DVD, no good. I'm really at a loss at identifying where I am going wrong.....please help lower my frustration level.

Please describe your steps in detail, if possible with screenshots.

It should be as simple as:

1) File->Share->Blu Ray

2) In export window, click Settings, and choose Device: Hard Drive

3) When you click to share, you get a Save dialog to choose the name and location.

Note: it may take a little while to export. You would not be the first to not wait for the export to finish.

There is a progress “wheel” as it exports (near the top left of FCP window), and you can also check on the progress by pressing Command-9.
