It's important to note that Macs are generally less susceptible to viruses than other types of computers, but it is still possible for them to be infected. If you think your Mac has a virus, there are a few steps you can take to try and remove it:

  1. Run a scan with your antivirus software: If you have antivirus software installed on your Mac, run a scan to see if it can detect and remove any viruses.
  2. Use a malware removal tool: There are several free malware removal tools available for Macs, such as Malwarebytes and CleanMyMac. These tools can scan your system for malware and remove any infections they find.
  3. Reset your Mac to its factory settings: If the above steps don't work, you can try resetting your Mac to its factory settings. This will erase all of your files and reinstall the operating system, which should remove any viruses that might be present.

It's important to note that resetting your Mac to its factory settings will erase all of your files, so make sure to back up any important documents or data before proceeding. You can find instructions for resetting your Mac to its factory settings in the Apple Support documentation.

If you are unable to remove the virus from your Mac using these methods, it is recommended to seek help from an Apple support specialist or a trusted professional.

You don't have a virus. There has never been an actual virus (self-propagating malware) since the release of OS X, 10.0 over a decade ago.

CleanMyMac, MacKeeper and any type of typical AV software should never be allowed to touch a Mac. They are all less than useless, and often dangerous. The only thing they succeed at is putting money into the hands of the companies that sell this junk.
