Index Function In Numbers Does Not Work

I have tables in Numbers to compute an "allowance day". It worked through 2022 but it now is looking into January so it does not work. I have the table for 2023 so all it needs is to access that table. When I select the range the range name looks very strange. Lots of characters that I do not know where they are coming from. What the function is supposed to do (and was doing until December) is take the current day and find (with Index) the next "allowance day". I do not understand why Numbers is populating the Range with what seems to be garbage. Please see the picture. Thanks in advance for your help.
