my Apple Watch doesn’t wake up and screen stays black even with raised wrist unless I tap it.

Firstly swipe up to the Control Center and make sure Theater or Cinema mode (two theatrical masks) is not lit up.
Then in Settings, Display & Brightness turn on Wake on Wrist Raise and if necessary Wake on crown Up
