My AirTags keep playing a noise when moved

My AirTags keep playing a noise when moved. Is this normal?

I cannot find a comprehensive manual anywhere that explains all of the features of these devices. I know they should make this noise when misplaced and I use my iPhone to locate them but every time they are moved????? I find it irritating as they go on for around 30s each time.

Mike.

P.S. My new 2nd generation AirPods also do this.

Hi Mike!

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your AirTag makes a sound each time you move it. If you'd like to learn about what the alerts from your AirTag mean, you can review this video from Apple Support: Get to know AirTag sounds

This resource also explains the features of your AirTag: Set up your AirTag using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Is the sound you're hearing from your AirPods the Find My sound? You can learn what that sounds like here: How to Find your lost AirPods

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
