apps able to use Composite AV Cable?

Just bought the Apple Composite AV Cable (MB129LL/B) and am putting it through the paces with various apps and the ancient TVs in my house.

Seems to work OK with YouTube and Netflix. Netflix makes it worth the price, to me.

Was disappointed to find that GoodReader was not able to send the videos I tried to my TV, though they did play on the iPad screen.

Also surprised that I couldn't get it to work with Hulu-Plus app.

Anyone have a different experience with this Cable/Adapter?

A related question: are all these MB129LL/B adapters identical? Or has Apple slipstreamed any updates under the same model number?

I bought mine from Walmart from some dusty stock that seems to predate the release of the iPad. I'm wondering if I'd be better off buying from Apple direct?

I'm glad that David Brewer helped me get video working on GoodReader. Thank you!

Additionally, I'd like to comment on the performance of the Netflix app over 3G -- rather amazing.

I suffered no pauses in playback for two 90 minute movies. The display quality over composite video to my 15-year old CRT TV was "VHS" quality, in general.

My only "gripe" would be that the dynamic range of the sound was difficult for my ears: I had to turn the volume up very high to understand the softly spoken passages, but then this made the volume louder than I'd prefer for the loud passages.

Watching TV in bed was easy. I turned the TV off with the TV remote, and then iPad went to sleep 5 minutes after the movie ended.

Although the charger that comes with the Apple Composite AV cable is apparently only 2 watts, it keeps the iPad from discharging during movie watching, and would seem to be able to recharge it just fine, all-be-it at a slower rate than the standard 10-watt charger.

I found that I got the most visible display by locking the iPad in portrait orientation, and hitting the fill screen button in Neflix.

I have Ipad and Iphone 4, both with Hulu Plus app. I tried connecting Apple Brand AV connector to my 60 Inch HDTV. Seems the Hulu Plus app does not support output through AV or any other cables. Youtube and my own videos worked fine, when Hulu Plus is launched only sound is output to TV, not video. Apple people in stores seem to have no knowledge of what will output to through AV and what will not. I returned $49.00 AV cable since my idea was to be able to watch Hulu Plus on my mega screen TV. Does not seem to be supported. Any other info would be great.
