My default calendar is Home but all invitations come to my Work calendar (on all devices - iMac, iPhone and iPad). Every time I have to change the calendar manually when accepting the invitation. I logged into icloud.com and under Calendar / Settings / Preferences I set Home as the default under "Add event & invitations to:" but still all invitations come to Work. How can I fix this?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Since this issue replicates over multiple devices, we suggest deleting the Home calendar from one device and adding it back. Delete a calendar account
1.In the Calendar appon your Mac, choose Calendar > Accounts, then select the account you want to delete.
2.Click the Remove buttonat the bottom of the account list.

If you delete the events, yes, they are gone forever, but no, just removing the account from your device doesn't delete the data.
When you re-add the account, your info should repopulate.
Also, while you think your default calendar is set right, it might be necessary to check on all your devices: If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won't sync
"If your contacts, calendars, and reminders are in iCloud, then iCloud automatically updates your information. If your information is in a third-party account, like Google or Yahoo, you can change your default account to iCloud. Changing your default account to iCloud won't move your existing information from a third-party service to iCloud."
And like that says, if you change the default account, the data won't move to the new account. You will need to manually move that info.

Will deleting the calendar remove it and all its contents from all devices or just one? How do I reinstate it? I don't want to lose this calendar - my whole life is in it!!
