Can't make any changes in Sharing and Permissions settings on any of my Macs, I get this_The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission.
I am logged in as the only user of each of the Macs and have always been able to change all Sharing and Permissions settings and now cannot. ???? Thus I am unable to access one of my Macs from the others in Finder even though on the same wifi.

You can't change the permissions on the top-level of the startup drive, nor do you need to.
That won't stop you from accessing that Mac from the others.

I was trying to access files in my user folder on the other computers, and I was tired at the time and messed up. I appreciate your reminding me that I cannot change the sharing settings on the main drive. Anyhow, all set now thanks
