Studio Display: No Camera, No Sound

Studio Display with M1 mini not showing (under preferences) itself, and no display camera (under preferences). Screen is connected with images working fine, just no sound or camera.

Tried the usual workarounds: unplug / plug (even overnight), other computers w/ Ventura, turned off file vault (for whatever reason), and danced a jig. Nada.

Yes, phoned Apple support -- not sure he had seen anything quite like a Studio Display. Escalated the case, and taking their time getting back.

Anyone familiar? Happy New Year!

Ok, for those who have helped like Luis and Philip, thank you. I learned much. I returned the defective, and the new replacement is working, showing all the original settings. As I thought, it was the Studio Display, not the M1 mini or software conflict. That's not to say it's not Clean My Mac potentially or some other 3rd party mischievous software. For now, it's not. And should something more develop, I'll come back and post an additional comment. For now, all's resolved with the replacement of a new display. Thanks again.

Thank you for posting the image. Now we know that your mac is correctly identifying the Studio Display, at least as far as the Display preferences.

If you start Quicktime Player, and do File->New Movie Recording, you should get a window with recording controls like the image below. Click the little down arrow as shown in the image. Does it not show your Studio Display camera and microphone as options? (I am on a MBP with no external devices in my case).

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS,  is an invitation for disaster and comprising the Operating System

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale. What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

This will include CleanMyMac is one the Top of the List of Application that is Best Keep well away for any Apple Computer

It works just as a display. It has no settings of it’s own. Sound preferences once showed studio display, now doesn’t show. Video (using facetime) is the same. Unless you’re familiar with the studio display none of the above will make sense. I think I’ve posted under the wrong category. It should be under either mac or display (can’t find one).

Luis, thank you for the introduction to Etrecheck, a software I hadn't heard / known of. I plan to take my M1 mini down to the Apple Genius if they'll have me to hook up to one of their Studio Displays. That way, I can rule out any 3rd party software / extensions, including CleanMyMac. Honestly, I hadn't heard either that CleanMyMac is a problem. Parallels, yes. It's a bank holiday here so hopefully Apple is open.
