Low temperature question

When it shows the low and high temperatures for the day, it has the low temp showing first… does that mean from midnight of that day or the low for the evening/middle of the night of that day?

The forecast shows the lowest predicted temperature and the highest predicted temperature. That’s usually the cool of the early morning hours temperature and the warmth of the early afternoon hours, but the lowest and highest temperatures can potentially occur at any time during the day. With the passage of an arctic code front, your location might get the daily high temperature shortly after midnight and the temperature plummeting for the rest of the day, for instance.

so today is Saturday, is the low tonight 48 or 43? This is very misleading…

Well, let's consider your question because it suggests something very misleading.

"is the low tonight 48 or 43?" The problem is "tonight" likely ends at midnight. The overnight low occurs during the wee hours of the next morning. The low from the period midnight Friday to midnight Saturday is 48. The low for the period starting at sunset Saturday to sunrise (or slightly later) Sunday is 43.
