Those Mac's do not support a cabled Target Display Mode setup.

Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support


You will have to look into using a network solution,

like Mirroring the two displays with AirPlay > AirPlay - Apple

or Sidecar > Use an iPad as a second display for a Mac - Apple Support


The best option is to get a third party display to use with the MacBook Pro or iMac.
