Hi,

Any information about the HP printer model?

Is it an AirPrint-enabled printer? If so, to begin with, make sure that the printer and the iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (router).

See the following article for information about how to print to an AirPrint model:

Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Depending on the model and service level (such as HP+), the printer manufacturer may require a special app (HP Smart) for setup and ink management purposes.

If there is a problem with AirPrint device discovery, and all settings are OK, you could try the following procedure (in this order, with these waiting times): Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the iPad, and all other connected devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iPad. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.

Thank you for the information.

According to the specifications, the HP OfficeJet 4655 All-in-One Printer appears to support AirPrint (albeit not specifically listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support).

So, it should work, if you connect the printer to the same Wi-Fi network (router) as the iPad. This printer operates in the 2.4 GHz band only.

The AirPrint technology as such does not require additional software. The HP Smart app may or may not be needed/useful.
