Mac Notes prints light gray -- not black!

Hello all, is there a reason whenever I print a note on my Mac to my laser printer, the note always prints light gray, never normal full black ink?

It's very frustrating. I can print something on MS Word and it looks normal. But Notes, which I use a lot these days, does not print black. Even if I go to "print preview" first, it still shows up as gray when it comes out of my printer.

Hello there adam007,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We suggest turning off any Print Dialog Extensions (PDE), as this disables any custom print options for the Notes app. The guidance needed is found in the Apple Support article: Solve printing problems on Mac

Turn off Print Dialog Extensions
Some printer software and apps use Print Dialog Extensions (PDEs) to make custom print options and dialogs available when you print. If you experience printing problems with software that uses PDEs, you can turn the use of PDEs off for that printer.
1.Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners  in the sidebar. (You may have to scroll down.)
2.Click the printer in the Printers list on the right, click the Options & Supplies button, select the Use Generic Printer Features checkbox, then click OK.
