To search for files, apps, and other content on your Mac, use Spotlight. Click the magnifying glass in the top right corner, or press Command-Space.

Getting Spotlight Search to Show:

[Hold Down: command key + Press: spacebar]. Then, type the name of some thing. Whatever the macOS find most relevant will apparent at the top.
