Google suggesting malware on my device

I have seen this posted by another person previously. I was suddenly logged out of one of my gmail accounts on my iphone, literally in the middle of composing an email. A prompt explains this action was taken due to suspicious activity and suggests running a malware scan. Apple seems confident that there iphones are not at risk for viruses and so doesn't offer a way to scan for malware. The account was removed from my phone. When I go to add it back, I receive a prompt suggesting that I scan the device before adding the account back in. The response to the previous post I had seen regarding exactly same situation was not terribly helpful. I hope to get some better information with this post.
