Apple watch recording in mi but all settings are km

I have checked all of my settings for the watch in all of the apps that record my movement and they are all set it to kilometers. My phone is the same all settings are in kilometers. Movement with my phone records in kilometers. Movement in my watch records in the Health app as miles. Please don’t copy and paste the same message that I’ve read 100 times on inquiries because all of the settings are set in kilometres on both devices. For January 2 it also seems off. Because I did not start working out until 20 after six. So somehow I have an imaginary workout of 5.1 miles before I got out of bed The KM on Jan 2 is me walking with my phone to my treadmill Everything else is on the watch Not sure why it does not have a watch icon beside it

Hello TracyFab,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about the unit of miles/km when tracking workouts, as well as how data is being tracked, when you're not using your watch, and we'd like to help. The following link, which you may have already went through, goes over how to set the unit you need: Use the Health app on your iPhone or iPod touch

From here, we'd recommend recalibrating your Apple Watch, as this can sometimes help with data and tracking between your watch and phone: Calibrate your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy

Calibrate your Apple Watch
1) While wearing your Apple Watch, go to a flat, open outdoor area that offers good GPS reception and clear skies.
2) If you have Apple Watch Series 2 or later, you just need your Apple Watch.* If you have Apple Watch Series 1 or earlier, bring your iPhone for GPS. Hold your iPhone in your hand, or wear it on an armband or waistband.
3) Open the Workout app, then tap Outdoor Walk or Outdoor Run. To set a goal before starting, tap the ... icon.
Outdoor Walk workout on watch with white band.

4) Walk or run at your normal pace for about 20 minutes.

Let us know if this helps.

Regards.
