Stolen Airpod Max

My AirPods were stolen from a rental car and I put them in lost mode. I’m wondering if they had a non apple product, once connected would they get the lost mode message I have set. I have the location of them and I see that they are using them. So for example, if they had a Samsung and tried to use it via Bluetooth would they get the message that they are lost as to call me?

Good day to you LMA99,

The following article, Find your lost AirPods, states -

When you turn on Lost Mode for your AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro (2nd generation), or AirPods Max, you can share a message with your phone number or email address. If someone finds your AirPods, the message appears on their iPhone.

That’s going to lead us to say this message will appear on an iPhone, but there is nothing specific stating it would appear on any other device when paired with AirPods.

Thanks.
