Payment method verification code sent to wrong number

It has been a long while since the last time I made a purchase with my iPad. I now need to "verify" my payment method. I went to settings-my name-payment & shipping, from there It says to enter code sent to (My Land line number), like I wrote, it's been a while.

I then went to my apple account and changed my number as well on my iPad.

My next attempt it showed "Enter the verification code sent to (My Mobil number)"

BUT, it also showed "The SMS request to the number have exceeded the limit. Please wait a while and try again.

I waited until the next day to try again.

NOW it shows "To use family organizer's PayPal, enter the verification code that was sent to family organizer's phone (My land line number)

Even after I disabled "Family Shearing" and I can't find anywhere my number would still be my land line.

If you go back and check, is it still showing Family Sharing as disabled? In order to disband a family group, if there was a child under 13 (in most countries), they would need to be transferred to another family group.


If that is not the case, try signing completely out of your Apple ID, then signing back in to make certain the changes to your account updated. Then try again to see if the issue is resolved.


If the issue remains, please reach out to Apple Support directly so they can look into your account for you.

You can sign in to the Apple ID website with your Apple ID to update your phone numbers associated with your account as outlined here: Manage and use your Apple ID

You can also get a verification code from a trusted device if you'd prefer: Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication

I appreciate the the attempt to help me but none of that is working.

When I encounter this problem, the first thing I did was change my number on my iPad to my mobile number. In fact, I had to enter a verification code and it was sent to that number. So far, that was only time.

I then changed it in my apple.com account as well.


This well be an update. Before I changed my number, when I tried to I verify my my payment method I got the "Enter the verification code sent to (My land line number)".

After I changed my number, for just a second, I'll see, "Enter the verification code sent to (My mobile number)" then it changes to "To use family organizer's PayPal, enter the verification code that was sent to family organizer's PayPal (My land line number).

Why is it changing from the number I want it to send to, to the number it shouldn't be able to send to? and how do I get it to stop sending the code to my "family organizer's PayPal"

I have disabled the "Family shearing" and I have removed all other devices, other then my laptop, from this device.
