Face ID on my iPhone 13 Pro Max is not working. I have tried to reset Face ID, and it keeps asking me to move my iPhone lower. Portrait mode is working, and I am running iOS 16.2.

Just to make sure, you did not miss something , also take a look at setting up Face ID again:
I have had the same issue for months using an iPhone 13 plus. I have completed all the steps below and still have the same problem. Nothing will fix this issue, and I read that it is a problem with the face scanner.
