Face id on iphone is too hot

Hello fellow iphoners, back in september I sent my iPhone 11 Pro Max to apple for battery replacement and got it back pretty quick, so after some days I noticed the phone getting too hot to the touch, more precisely the Face ID sensor, so when I try to unlock my phone I get the message that it ahs to cool down befre I can use the sensor again,, this problem was why i sennt the phone to them in the first palce since the battery was draining pretty fast and I had and still have to carry the charger with me at all times because of this issue, so my question is the followin:

Is there something I can do to fix this issue with the face id sensot being way too hot? or should I just contact apple and ask for help?

I have the latest iOS installed and phone was bought in Feb 2019
