Does Time Machine backup Hotmail emails & attachments?

Does Time Machine backup Hotmail emails & attachments? If so, where do you find them?

I have looked at the following advice I found online but cannot make it work:

'Where is my mail folder in Time Machine?

It is backed up. To find it: Click on Mail > Inbox > and once you have the screen showing, go to the Time machine icon and click that. Wait a moment and then the screen will allow you to go back to previous mail inbox dates. The system works with sent mails and other mailboxes too.

It does not work with Junk mail.'

I'd appreciate any tips! Thanks 👍🏼

If you're using the IMAP protocol and haven't manually downloaded them, no; the messages are only on the Hotmail servers.

If you're using IMAP and have manually downloaded them, they'll be in the location you saved them to.

If you're using POP3, they'll be in the local mail folders for the application.
