Hey there Chris,
This really depends on where the calendar events are being stored. Go to Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar to find where the events are being stored. This will be indicated with a checkmark next to the Default Calendar.
Once you install the app, it will begin syncing again to that calendar.
Regards.
Friends of iOS,
I had the same problem and none of the patches mentioned above worked.
So just figured out a new diagnostic and workaround: I use several calendars, among which on on Exchange which was my default account for events on iOS calendar. When playing around I noticed that the crash only happens when calendar for the event was set to this Exchange account.
So here‘s the workaround: Choose another account as default, eg your iCloud one. You can then enter a location without crashing the calendar app. You can even switch back to the Exchange account AFTER entering the location and it still doesn‘t crash.
Hope this is helpful to some people here…
Have same problem which began when FaceTime and Skype showed up as possible location entries. Disabling FaceTime does solve the problem, but like to use it regularly. Local Apple Store has NO clue about this problem and just wanted to erase the phone and start over! Not very satisfactory. Wife has same phone purchased at same time and has no problem. Please Apple fix this!
Calendar crashing on location should be fixed NOW. It’s one of the most commonly used applications by millions. It may not be a sexy new app but it’s a mainstay app and how hard can this bug be to fix. FIX IT!!
I tried all the work around suggestions and to no avail. Fix this bug!!!!!!!!!
If I remove and replace app will I lose all information I have added?
I have had the same issue, have followed the above steps, and the problem persists.
I did all those steps and the Calander blows up as soon as I type anything into the Location field.
I did each of the recommended remedies. Apple Calendar still crashes when I try to enter a location.
I’m having the same issue. iPhone 14 Pro Max with 16.3.1. Any other ideas?
I wonder if someone at apple is actualy looking into some solution as clearly the suggested steps are not helping and this already 2 months since first report.
Stupid, but it worked for me : disable FaceTime!
Thanks. It seems to have disabled the FaceTime option in event location at the app is no longer crashing
Disable Facetime worked for me
Deinstall and reinstall facetime also worked!
